How to knock out a Cold or Flu within 24-48 hours

The common cold and the corresponding symptoms is something we all can relate to and are all susceptible to. With the runny nose, sneezing, watery eyes, sinus stuffiness, cough and mucous discharge, it’s not only uncomfortable and inconvenient, but also disrupts our school and work productivity.  A bout of the flu, is even more disruptive with the accompanying fever and fatigue. For most of us with a fairly well functioning immune system, an occasional cold or flu is just an inconvenience and disruption to our daily life for a few days.

Do we have to accept the discomfort and inconvenience of a cold or flu as a common occasional disruption in productivity, and just wait for it to run it’s course? Or is there something we can do to prevent the disruption of our productivity at the onset of signs and symptoms of a cold or flu?  Regarding prevention at the onset, the answer is a definite “yes”!

“I Don’t Have Time to Be Sick With a Cold or Flu…What Can I Do?”

At the onset of signs and symptoms of a cold or flu, besides drinking plenty of water, deceasing our stress as much as possible, minimizing our commitments temporarily as realistically possible, avoiding sugar, and temporarily decreasing our exercise intensity, by using the three following supplements at the dosages provided for 24 to 48 hours, most people can stop the onset or significantly shorten the course of a cold or flu:

Note: The dosages listed are for adults.  For children under 12 years old and/or under 90 pounds, use 1/2 the dose of everything recommended below

  • Vitamin D3: Take 20,000 IU Vitamin D 3x/day until the symptoms resolve. Vitamin D3 plays a powerful role in innate immune response modulation, both in decreasing viral replication, as well as inducing antibacterial effects[i] .
  • Vitamin C: Take either 1 gram liposomal vitamin C  3 x/day,  or take 6 grams powdered-buffered vitamin C 3x/day.  In both animal and human studies, high-dose vitamin C has shown to inhibit viral replication[ii].
  • Monolauric Acid: Take three 600 mg capsules of Monolauric Acid, 3x/day until symptoms resolve.  Monoloauric acid, derived from coconuts, has very powerful antiviral and antibacterial properties[iii].
